So I had occasion to do some research the other day trying to figure out a good translation for the term ???? ????, which is literally ‘white weapons’. It did not take long to figure out that it refers to all kinds of combat weapons short of firearms, but I was pounding my head on the wall trying to come up with a succinct way to say that in English. I found a posting (in English) about Kuwait’s law that bans the sale of white weapons and got my answer from someone’s angry retort to what I assume was an attempt at humor on the part of the author.
